When Democrats Support Violence

From a couple days ago: AOC, Pressley vow to help pay bail for counterprotesters arrested at ‘Straight Pride’ parade
Wow. For a short article, there’s a lot to unpack here.
So what we have here is a parade set up by people who oppose same-sex “marriage.” The event was legal, protected by the Constitution, and most likely planned as a peaceful event. The goal was to “to celebrate traditional families and defend heterosexuality.”
The Left, as usual, went berserk.
Apparently the group was outnumbered by thousands of protesters, some of which were, admittedly, members of the terrorist organization Antifa:
“We’re covered in black so when we attack these guys we can’t be prosecuted,” Jon Crowley, a self-identified Antifa member, told the Boston Herald while at Saturday’s parade. He added that he believes violence is the only way deal with the “Straight Pride” marchers, saying: “They are fascists, 100%. How else are you going to get them to shut up?”
So, these guys showed up with the intention to attack–the intention to commit violence against–a peaceful, legal, Constitutionally protected group of marchers. Yet, they’re the “facists.”
When it was over with, 36 counterprotesters had been arrested, including:
Nine of the counterprotesters arrested have been charged with assaulting police officers
In repsonse to the violence brought by the counterprotesters, and their arrests, a fundraiser has been set up in the aptly Leftist name: Solidarity Against Hate Legal Defense Fund. The term solidarity has a nice communist sound, and the fight against hate, is well… like many Leftist terms, adapted to mean whatever they want, instead of taking the time to discern between disagreement and actual hate.
So, if this doesn’t sound like a mess already, it actually gets better. Two elected U.S. Representatives have supported the fundraiser: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass.
“One way to support the local LGBTQ community impacted by Boston’s white supremacist parade?” Ocasio-Cortez said on Twitter, sharing a link to the fund. “Contribute to the Bail Fund for the activists who put themselves on the line protecting the Boston community.”

In other words, these two Representatives are supporting “activists” who assaulted citizens who have a right to assemble and police officers. These two Representatives have come out in support of violence against those they deem are a threat to the community. And the threat? Disagreeing with the Leftist worldview.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez characterized the event as a “white supremacist parade,” and that the Boston community was in need of protection from this group. What did the community need to be protected from? Were they parading through the street hurling sexist, racist, and “homophobic” slurs at bystanders? Were they attacking members of the community? Probably not. The community needed to be protected from the “hate” of a message that was different from their own: an opposing view.
Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass. characterized the event as a “#LGBT hate march” in a tweet of her own. Jon Crowley, of Antifa, described them as facists and admitted that the only way to “get them to shut up” was to attack them.
The violence perpetrated by the Left is beginning to grow, and it’s becoming acceptable. It’s scary to think that members of the U.S. House of Representatives find it acceptable, and that members of this country have actually cast votes supporting them. What’s even scarier is that their behavior hasn’t been condemned by the broader Democratic party. C’mon America. We can do better than that. No More Democrats.
