Gun Control Has Failed, Again

On Friday, 26 people were murdered; 20 of which were children.

I have no idea what those children look like yet, but I am continually saddened as I think of what their faces may have looked like; eyes wide with fear, crying, begging… I wonder what the shooter was thinking as he looked into each little terror-stricken face. And pulled the trigger. And then did it again. And again. Until 20 children lay dead. I am saddened each time I think of it.

I can’t help but wonder what each child was thinking as they watched a madman murder each of their classmates one by one. Maybe they were thinking, why won’t somebody make it stop? And then, my sadness turns to anger. Why the hell __didn’t__ anyone make him stop? Why was he allowed to murder this nations children, one by one. At his leisure? I’ll tell you why. Because there wasn’t anyone there to stop him. There wasn’t anyone there capable of stopping him. There wasn’t anyone there with a gun.

This was allowed to happen because of two words: Gun Control. Gun Control enabled this to happen.

Gun Control had disarmed the protection these children could have had. Gun Control had disarmed the protection these children should have had. We, as a nation, failed to protect 26 people yesterday because we’ve allowed Gun Control to prevail in this country. Gun Control leaves decent people with no means to defend themselves or anyone else, leaving wicked people to murder innocents at will.

What has Gun Control accomplished?

– On 11 Dec 2012, Gun Control allowed one man to kill 2 people and injure 1 at the [Clackamas Town Center][1] in Portland, OR.

– On 5 Aug 2012, Gun Control allowed one man to kill 6 people and injure 4 at the [Sikh Temple][4] in Oak Creek, WI.

– On 20 Jul 2012, Gun Control allowed one man to kill 12 people and injure 59 at the [Century][3] movie theater in Aurora, CO.

– On 2 Apr 2012, Gun Control allowed one man to kill 7 people and injure 3 at [Oikos University][2] in Oakland, CA.

These are just a couple of incidents from 2012. The list doesn’t end there. Wikipedia has a rather comprehensive list of events where people without adequate protection or self-defense were [massacred][5], throughout the history of the U.S.

I should also remind people how on 22 Jul 2001, Gun Control allowed one man to kill 77 people and injure 110 at two separate locations in Oslo, [Norway][6]. In all of these incidents, there wasn’t a single person with a gun to stop these madmen. How’s that Gun Control working?

I’m not sure what it is that liberals think Gun Control will accomplish. It certainly won’t stop people from trying to kill or control other people. China is the perfect example as of late, because on the same day as the Sandy Hook massacre, one man injured 22 children and 1 adult today. Luckily, no one was killed in that incident, but what if someone had the means to fight back? Over the last couple of years, approximately 21 people have been killed and 90 injured by people wielding knives, hammers, and cleavers. Gun Control didn’t protect any of these people.

Gun Control doesn’t make the world a safer place. If you think it does, you’re either blindly following your liberal masters or your spending too much time on the Good Ship Lollipop floating through La La Land. I’ve always know Gun Control is unconstitutional, and that it’s wrong. But as of yesterday, I came to a new realization. It isn’t just wrong; it’s immoral.

In the world we live in, there are wicked people. There always have been, and there always will be: “For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.” (Mark 7:21-22) You don’t need to be a Christian to understand this. Simply take a look at the real world, and you’ll see the truth in this statement.

We live in a fallen world. As a result, there will always be people looking for ways to control and terrorize others, or simply take as many of our loved ones out as they embark on a suicidal rampage. It __will__ happen again, and Gun Control __will__ fail to protect people again. Gun Control will __always__ fail. Gun Control takes weapons out of the hands of decent people leaving them defenseless. By its very nature, it will always leave defenseless people defenseless and vulnerable to attack. And that is immoral.

Liberals claim to be the compassionate ones, but the new calls for more Gun Control highlights what they really care about. They don’t care about people, they care about Gun Control. If they cared about people, they would ensure people were adequately protected.

Gun Control enabled this to happen, again.

I’m calling on our elected officials to start working towards decreasing the chances of this reoccurring. It’s time to put an end to Gun Control efforts and equip security guards at schools, malls, theaters, etc. with weapons and training. Heck, I even think teachers should be armed; maybe it’ll drive some of the liberal ones away! Make it easier for citizens to get weapons. If a wicked man doesn’t know how many weapons are in the vicinity, he may have second thoughts. While it won’t prevent an incident, it will greatly reduce the chances of one man continually pulling the trigger over, and over, and over. If there had been someone else at Sandy Hook, armed, other than the shooter, the death toll may not have reached 26.

Gun Control allowed this to happen, and its supporters will enable it to happen again.
