Peer Reviewed Fraud

For a long time now, people have touted the mighty peer-reviewed journal as the way to keep scientists honest. It was the place to go for real answers, and it’s been trusted and touted by atheists as the only source of wisdom. Only papers published by a peer-reviewed journal were worthy of being discussed among true scientists, therefore, papers not published in a peer-reviewed journal were meaningless. Such were the arguments regarding papers written against popular “scientific” studies such as climate change, and natural evolution.

For all practical purposes, atheists/scientists defended their peer-reviewed journals with the voracity of a Christian defending the Gospels. Okay, probably more.

Writing for PJ Lifestyle, Theodore Dalrymple brings into question just how much faith should be put into these journals. In Peer Review Fraud on the Rise at Scientific Journals he writes:

The pressure on academics to publish, irrespective of whether they have anything to say, either for the sake promotion or even of mere continuance in post, is the soil which allows this particular weed in the garden of human dishonesty to flourish.

What I’ve thought for a very long time is coming to light. Scientists are people, and contrary to atheistic thinking, scientists have the same wants, desires, and biases that every other human being on this planet has; they have the same tendency towards sin. Like any human being, greed and pride play in their minds, and regardless of their academic education, they’re no better, and no smarter.

The argument that a finding was published in a peer-reviewed journal never held a lot of weight with me, and still doesn’t. It holds even less now that the truth of peer-review is coming to light. That doesn’t mean peer-review doesn’t play an important role. What it means is that what you read needs be read with a grain of salt. Studies that defy common sense are to be questioned.

Trigger Warning

You’ll get no trigger warning from me. The Truth has teeth. If you get bitten, you probably deserve it.

The Fear of Being Called Phobic

In The Fear of Being Called Phobic, Jim Goad discusses the false phobias plaguing our culture today; the phobias not invented to describe irrational fears, but invented to silence those who oppose the “enlightened” left. And he wants to know:

And who gets to decide which fears are genuine and which are baseless? Is it wrong to be germaphobic if the germs are going to kill you?

And if the germ was going to kill you, it wouldn’t be an irrational fear anymore, but a rational fear. What would that be called? It’s no longer a phobia.

But the fear of being called phobic is real, and it’s rational. Because being labeled phobic can have consequences; particularly homophobic, as seen here, here, and here.

The best thing to do—at least if you want a career and a social life—is to stick your head in a hole and shut the fuck up.

So how about fear of the left? You know, the tolerant, compassionate, “Liberals are better Christian’s than Conservatives” left?

Because they’re the ones pushing faux-phobias down our throats and relishing in the idea of ruining people’s lives for the betterment of society. Because society will be made in an image that they decide, and anyone that gets in their way will be socially and professionally run over. They call themselves Social Justice Warriors, but that’s not accurate. They’re Social Justice Terrorists, because as Jim Goad points out, they push their agenda through fear:

Bullets are nice, but much of political power—maybe most of it—comes from successfully instilling fear and guilt in your opponents.

In that respect, they’re not much different than Islamic terrorists; pushing their agenda through the destruction of those who oppose them.

Living and Dying With Dignity

I wrote the following a couple days ago:

Life is important. It’s a gift, and you only get one. For a culture obsessed with finding ways to improve our lives and live longer and healthier, we have a pretty crappy record of protecting it.

We spend our lives trying to tell people that suicide is wrong. It hurts your loved ones. It’s selfish.

Then we go and want to allow people to commit suicide, with the assistance of a “medical professional”. This whole idea is a big, fat, pile of bullshit. “But, they’re terminally ill. Let them die with dignity,” they cry. We’re all terminally ill. We’re all going to die! I have an idea. Instead of dying with “dignity,” how about living with dignity!

And then the Daily Signal published this today: New Study Shows Legalizing Physician-Assisted Suicide Increases Suicide Rates.

Who's Nudging Who?

Government should not be in the business of ‘nudging’ it’s citizens. We The People are supposed to be ‘nudging’ the government.

Missing the Cart Corral

Why are people so lazy that they can’t put their cart in the corral? Usually it takes less than two minutes. Normally I wouldn’t care, but do you know how many carts I’ve seen bash cars on a blustery day? Do you know how many carts have bashed my car? I think it’s lazy and rude not to put your cart in the corral.

Today, I saw a woman take her groceries from her cart and put them in the trunk. She then pushed the cart between her vehicle and the car to the right of her vehicle. There was a cart corral on the left side.

Lady? If you read this? WTF?

October Is Vegetarian Awareness Month

Is Vegetarian Awareness Month necessary? I really don’t think we need a day, let alone a month, dedicated to raising awareness of vegetarians. They’re already quite adept at making us aware of their presence at every opportunity.

Catholics and Satanists United In Their Support For Planned Parenthood's Important Work

In the wake of the undercover videos showing that Planned Parenthood is probably involved in the sale of baby body parts, an understandable backlash has developed. As Pro-Life protesters planned to descend on Planned Parenthood offices around the country, two unlikely groups have found themselves on the same team in their struggle to show their support for the abortion giant: Catholics and Satanists.

On August 21, 2015, the Catholic group, Catholics for Choice, issued a press release indicating their support for Planned Parenthood.

Women’s health clinics across the country will again be harassed by the antichoice movement this weekend. In response, Catholics organized to remind clinic staff that we stand with Planned Parenthood and support the important work they do1.

While Catholics for Choice were delivering cakes and messages of goodwill, members of the Satanic Temple of Detroit held weird rituals. Apparently,

many Satanists believe abortion is sacred and some participate in the procedures themselves. In fact, former Satanist Zachary King explained that participating in abortions is particularly important for Satanists because it is considered the best way to give an offering to Satan.2

So, what this says is that Satanists believe abortions are particularly important, and Catholics for Choice support the important work they do.

I wonder how the Pope would feel about that.
